The Autry Center

A graphically written Emancipation Proclamation

Crazy mineral prospecting map
In the many years we've lived in Los Angeles, we've never been to the Autry Center in Griffith Park.  On the Smithsonian Museum Day this year, we finally checked it out.  A real treat with lots of great work from the Southwest and well curated rotating exhibits. Highly recommend it!

Case Study House #22: Stahl House

We recently had the chance to tour one of the most iconic modern buildings in the world: Case Study House #22, the Stahl House. What an amazing experience! We can't believe it took this long for us to see the house in person, and we highly recommend it to anybody interested in architecture, design, and Los Angeles.

The Stahl family has tours of the home throughout the year. We did the evening tour which allowed us to see an incredible sunset and all the lights across the city at night. Must see!

Picnic in Elysian Park

What is summer without a picnic in the park? We finally cleared out a weekend to co-host a picnic in Elysian Park with our friends at You Have Been Here Sometime and A Note on Design. What a lovely afternoon filled with old and new friends, piles of food on blankets, bocce ball, and a pinata shaped like a can of Modelo.

Thanks to our good friend Shannon Cottrell for taking some amazing photographs that afternoon. You can find her work on her site and weekly in the LA Weekly.  Looking forward to more summer picnics, whether they're in 2011 or 2012!
